If you want to set up a workflow, email campaign, survey, or chat trigger to target the contacts that use mobile or desktop only, follow the tutorial below.

How do I filter the mobile and desktop users?

Before setting up your workflow or any other marketing automation tool, you need to create and save the list of contacts who use desktop, then you will be able to filter the contacts who are using only mobile.

To create a list of contacts who use desktop do the following:

  • Go to the Contacts page.

  • Select your audience: All users, All leads, or All contacts. In our case, it's "All contacts".

  • Select a property called "OS" (operating system).

  • Then add the same property another two times for different operating systems. The property ∋ (contains):

    • Macintosh

    • Linux

    • Windows

  • Save the list and then give it a name. We name the list the "Desktop users".

Read this article on how to create contact lists.

Then to send a workflow to the people who use mobile, you will select the opposite by filtering those that do not belong to this list:

  • Go to the Contacts page

  • Select your audience: All users, All leads, or All contacts. In our case, it's "All contacts".

  • Then select does not belong to a list of "Desktop users"

  • And then choose the "OS" property from the list and select "is set".

  • Save the list and name it "Mobile users only".

Since you saved two lists, now you can move on to marketing automation. Go to the Outbound section and start creating a workflow with the lists. Check this article on how to create workflows.
